I need advise as to what type of control valve I need with the following setup: This concerns a BX1500. I will install a hydraulic adapter block on side of transmission to supply a remote control valve (to operate a double action cylinder). The block has 2 ports (1 input/1 output). The transmission has a return port which is close to the hyd. block. So, 3 lines will go to the control valve (I guess). Owners manual states using a "Power Beyond" type conrtol valve with "relief valve". Terms like "open center, closed center, 3 port, 4 port, etc." confuse me more than I already am.Someone please guide me.

You need an open center, 4-way valve, with pressure relief, and load checks on each port, and of course "power Beyond". You will need one 4-way spool for each circuit. For a blade, I would also recommend that one spool have a float position. That allows free flow of fluid so the blade can float over the ground.

The plumbing is straight forward. From the "out" of the hydraulic block to the "in" on the auxiliary valve. From the "power beyond" on the auxiliary valve to the "return" on the hydraulic block. From the "out" on the auxiliary valve to the exhaust port on the reservoir.

You can buy the valves as stackable units from several places, including SurplusCenter.

If you have any more questions, feel free. If you look at my pics, you will see the auxiliary valve I added mounted to the lower portion of the loader tower.

Regards ....

Thanks, beagle, for the help. That clarifies things a great deal. Nice pics. You must be an animal lover too. Nothing wrong with that--true loyalty from them, which is something us humans could have more of. ....
